- I have an electric guitar, but prefer the sound of acoustic, because what you hear is what you get. I just think acoustic is very soothing and sounds "pure" (un-alterd). I enjoy acoustic versions of songs, especially when the acoustic version is played slower than it usually would be. It makes you connect with the song on a different level or even change the way you interpret the meaning of the song. Some of my favorite acoustic versions of songs are; "Until the Day I Die" by Story of the Year, and "Cute without the e " by Taking Back Sunday
